Good morning from day one of Milan Men’s Fashion Week!
This season is going to be busy, busy, busy for our graduates and today we kicked things off with a bang with our old friends at Dondup, our fifth time joining them backstage in Milan. Dondup is a classic Italian fashion house that makes clothes for both men and women, reflecting on style trends of the past and twisting them with a modern day cut.
Today the grads were creating the look for the presentation, presentations tend to have a lot fewer models than runway shows, however, they go on for a lot longer, some for hours. This gives the fashion press the chance to come and spend a lot of time getting lots of beautiful images and is becoming an increasingly popular way for designers to showcase their upcoming collections. They often involve many outfit changes and therefore the team need to be on hand and prepared to do touch ups very quickly and efficiently.
The look for today was the classic men’s look of clean, polished and very minimal, so once they had been briefed on this, they set about doing full skincare on each of the models followed by concealer where needed & a little powder to take the shine off.
This was the teams only show today so once the presentation was finished in the afternoon it was the perfect time to head out into Milan and get pizza, of course.
